I am looking to upgrade my bike and I have managed to narrow it down to the following 2 Focus Models...

Focus Cayo Ltd Dura Ace...

http://www.wheelbase.co.uk/bikes/road/m ... td-c-2014/

Or the Focus Izalco Team 3.0...

http://www.peakcyclesport.com/m1b1s6p42 ... L-3-0-2014

Either will be a big jump forward for me and will be my first carbon model. I realise that that there is quite a big difference in price, so I suppose the question is whether I should really stretch myself for the Izalco.

I compete in triathlon and enjoy club runs out at weekends, but cannot justify 2 specific bikes, so this is a bike that will need cover all bases.

Any advice and guidance would be greatly appreciated...but please don't offer alternative choices...it's taken me forever to get this point and the focus will come thought my much trusted lbs!

Thanks.

I have the 2012 Izalco Pro 3, great bikes.

Go for the best you can afford & in this case it's the Team, cant go wrong. Having said that both the Team and Cayo are in use on the Pro Tour, the Team more so.

You could get the Cayo and drop grand on some Carbon wheels but if you buy the Cayo you'll always want the Team.
    I would anyway :D

I have the 2012 Izalco Team 2.0. I really can't fault it in any way.

I would be tempted by the Izalco as it's the better bike, but the Cayo is a hell of a lot of money for £2k.
No doubt you will be happy with either
Prefer the colours on the Cayo as well

  • have been looking at the same bikes myself for my next purchase, but I'm tending to steer more towards the Cayo Evo 3 with 11spd Ultegra and with the money saved upgrading the wheels. (will also need to buy a new saddle as I know I don't get on with the stock ones)
