Morning
Up to watch the GP race for second.
Then it's a guess on whats happening for the rest of the day as the wife did consume a load of ale yesterday. It should involve cycling but hangover and bad weather forecast.
right GP is about to start, laters

Morning,
Work today after a hefty 4 hours sleep. The place is awkward at the moment as both me and my (secret) replacement are here and he's realised that I won't be leaving, thus making me his boss for the foreseeable future.

Too tired to get up and watch the GP, so coffee is now essential to get me going. It's tanking down here so all outdoor activities have been cancelled and I probably now have to do the stuff I was so successfully avoiding yesterday"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." Dullest GP season ever, I fell asleep again0

Afternoon Losers!
Went up to Windfields today as I was a bit too relaxed with my time yesterday. Didn't find the coat I wanted, but saw some good bargains for camping. I ended up buying the coat from Amazon anyway.
Thinking now I need a deer hunter's hat for the football too. That'll keep the wind off!
Laters! It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

Red Bull have fastest car. Red Bull shaft Mark webber. Again. Red Bull bum Vettel. Vettel wins. Boring. Annoying. Does the German Cnut deserve it? Does he hell.
There's a huge array of things that Vettel has in his benefit, some listed above. Vettel has adapted very well to how the cars use the fancy exhaust systems these days. This gives him a huge advantage because A) Red Bull (read Adrian Newey) have done the best job at making it work and Mark Webber isn't as good at it as Vettel is. The Pirelli tyre change in the wake of silverstone also helped them out massively and it really put the teams who had done a great job of making cars kind to their tyres, Lotus, Ferrari and Force India at a disadvantage. It is no surprise that Ferrari and to an even bigger extent Force India are now struggling having been so strong earlier in the season. Vettel has had it so easy the past 4 years you would not believe.
In 2010 he had the fastest car, but made a lot of mistakes. He was gifted the championship by Ferrari and indeed by Red Bull. Heading into Japan 2010 Webber lead The world championship significantly in front of Vettel. Red Bull told Mark to stay behind Vettel on the race. Helmut Marko has said he would rather win the championship properly (I.e. with Vettel) or not win it at all. So Mark has always been the one who has been mistreated and unfairly so, IMO, the 2010 title was rightly Webbers or Alonso's and after Ferrari's strategy cock up in Abu Dhabi it would have been Alonso's title.
Likewise 2011, Red Bull had a huge car advantage, again down to the brilliance of Adrian Newey. At silverstone where there were heavy restrictions on that years "blown diffusers" the Red Bull was no better than the Ferrari that year, so it is a strong argument to suggest that, had the ban on such technology been brought into place, the outcome could have been different.
2012 hinged on 2 factors IMO. The upgrades Red Bull bought to their car in Singapore and pure luck that Alonso was taken out in Spa and Suzaka and reliability of Hamiltons Mclaren. In both instances Alonso and Hamilton were powerless to prevent this. Thus Vettel once again found himself in the fastest car, won 4 races on the trott and the title because of those 4 wins.
Those that say "well you have to finish to win" well yes you do. But then again I do believe Nick Heidfeld holds the record for most consecutive finishes and he won feck all in his career. Give any driver the best car and they will win, and all you have to do is bear your team-mate. When the team are clearly against you and would rather lose than let you win, as in Webbers case, beating your team mate becomes bloody difficult.
The one constant in F1 in the last 20 years is Adrian Newey, Williams, Mclaren, Red Bull.. Whichever team he touches turns to Gold and yet he recieves little of the credit that Vettel does. Statistics IMO mean little and Vettel will never earn the respect of many until he wins in inferior equipment, in a manner similar to Alonso last year. Frankly next season and the new regulations can't come soon enough and I wouldn't be surprised if the order is seriously shaken up.0 -
For the first time in 18 odd years I'm struggling to find the motivation to watch F1 this season. I just can't do it, fed up of a German in a superior car winning all the time all over again.
Anyway, today was a trip into London with the mate to look at some bikes, buy some stuff and have a race on boris bikes which was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, so we basically ate food, looked at bikes and he spent lots of money on some rapha goodies.
Got given my birthday present this weekend too, it's a bottle opener for the 456 that mounts on the steerer between headset spacers, pretty cool and useful. You should all be incredibly jealous.0 -

- No engine capacity or number of cylinders limits
- Turbos or superchargers
- Any Aero stuff or suspension set up you like
- Any fuel or tyres you want - methanol, nitrous whatever
- Bodicea spikes
- Whacky races style cheats
- Car contact allowed
Apart from maybe making the car the width of the track so no fecker can get past.
Would be loads more fun to watch."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -
