Bought a like new 2012 boardman FS pro in large frame but think its probably a bit to big for me. I'm 5'10 - 31" leg. Think a medium might be better and was also thinking of replacing with a better frame but not sure what I need to consider being new to all this.

Would this lapierre zesy 514 frame be any good for a straight swap for the parts?

    unlikely.

check the fitting and measurements of your frame and what every you might get.

and your link does not work.

You need to make a list of the the parts and compare. Shock could be an expensive issue if they don't.

might be better to sell your bike and buy a medium. I recently sold a Canyon Nerve to a mate but I wanted to keep the brakes wheels and gears. thinking it would be an easy swap I said to my mate I will put your parts on will only take a few minutes Ho Ho Ho I was sweating bricks when I realised nothing quite fitted I needed new gear cables, new brake hoses, new front rotor and brake adaptor oh and his seatpost is right on the insertion limit.

if you can get another Boardman frame most parts will be a straight swap . Using another make of frame and it could end up costing you a lot of money .
