Hi,

My son has an islabikes beinn 20 and I was just in the lbs and he spotted some of these - http://www.skully.com.tw/htm/products_l324.php and he thinks they look cool.

He doesnt have any lights on his bike at the moment - he is only 7 so we haven't ridden at night yet, but I am thinking of taking him to the local forest/park this winter for a spin in the evenings and wondered if these would work.

Does anyone have any experience of them?

Thanks

They're a brighter-than-average light for that type of light. Quite impressive really.

However, they are really a 'be seen' light, not a 'to see with' unit.

I've similar on the headtube of my bike as a be seen light and use it on flash on the ride home after dark. I bought mine from Planet X when they were £1 each. Must get round to changing the batteries soon.

  • wow and I thought I was doing well finding the Sully's red ones at a fiver a piece - http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/produ ... tAodNUEA3A

Now will he notice the difference :-)

although my fav are these http://www.skully.com.tw/htm/products_l324n.php but they are onlu available on Ebay and at a tenner a piece they are too much
  • Hi,

Just so anyone else interested in these is aware. The quality control on the Phaart Bones from Planet X is terrible, coupled with the fact they only put half of what I ordered in the delivery, getting this sorted has been a right pain.

Fair play to Planet X they have sent some replacements for the ones that didnt work, but I am just about to email them again as some of the replacements dont work either.

I got these for my kids as Xmas stocking fillers and I'm glad I took them out and tested them. If anyone else is thinking of doing the same I'd recommend they checked theirs.

I only hope they last once they are on the bikes, otherwsie this will have been a false economy. I'll leave it for someone to say you get what you pay for.

When I bought the skull lights from PX I also bought a couple of other silicone LEDs for the forks and snapped the band installing the first one. PX didn't respond to my query regarding returning it via email but the matter was soon sorted via Twitter.

  • My son loves his. Its definitely brighter then most lights plus its clip on.
