I'm looking for a cheap torque wrench for carbon frame and seat post tightening, and probably other things on the bike.

Are these any good does anyone know?:

That's very similar to the one you get free with canyon bikes. It works ok as far as I can tell, although I broke mine (my fault entirely) so thanks for finding this, I shall be buying one!

Yup, I'm sure it'll be good enough. And that's all I want for this.
  • Halfords as helpful as ever - no mention of the torque range which is perhaps the most important thing for a torque wrench.

Also are doing a torque wrench from Thursday at £16. Don't know what range of torque it is but might be worth a look.

I agree with you, but if you zoom into the picture, you can see it goes up to 12Nm.
  • I have one, very useful, I also have a park tools one for higher torque items like my power cranks and chainring bolts. The little topeak is perfect for seatpost, stem, etc.

    You'll be meaning Aldi!

I have one of those (maybe the Lidl version) - it's fine; made in Germany and all that. But it is a biggun - 28-210 Nm on mine. Useful for bottom brackets and cassettes and that's it. I do get good use out of it and for £16 it's been an excellent purchase but you need a much smaller one for most bike jobs.

The BBB torque wrench I use goes from 2 -24Nm so pretty much everything is covered. I'm stuffed if I need to torque to 26Nm though

Just bear in mind that a cheap torque wrench will not hold its calibration as well as a more expensive model.

I've got my Topeak one from Halfords, so that goes up to 12Nm.

For higher Nm I'm thinking of this which I've just found:

    Draper 28757 3/8-inch 10 - 80mm Square Drive Ratchet Torque Wrench
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Draper-28757-8- ... B009VYBFBO
    £23.68

    The price seems quite reasonable.
