Because it says "Hope" on it, so is automatically classed as an upgrade to any bike, even if it's not as good as the thing its replacing. Plus, it gives the owner the ability to write "lots of hope" in the ad when they come to sell the bike it's attached to. It also increases the value of said bike by at least a gazillion pounds.0 -
Big deal. A minute to fit a SFN, a 59 seconds to swap a head doctor. And how many MTB have carbon steerers?I don't do smileys.

I couldn't be arsed trying to fit a SFN - a compression nut was easier. is it overprice yes but it worked first time unlike the last SFN I tried to install :oops:0 -

I have one in my Anthem because I had it in my toolbox when I built the bike. No idea where it came from.
No better than a star nut and takes a lot longer to fit. I wouldn't buy one.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

I have a hope headset too, which I do think is worth the money
But yea, it don't think the head doctor is any better especially at £15 and a star nut comes with most forks anyway and they cost about 99p0 -
I have a head doctor because I got it cheap, wouldn't bother again, SFN is just as easy. Hope top cap does look nice though :-)0

I couldn't actually figure out how to install the head doctor
Chucked it in the bin and put the SFN in.0 -
I actually had to fit an expander in the carbon forks on the kinesis (they're full carbon, including steerer, so no starnut). I got one free from superstar with a £7 bag of haribo I ordered. It's black. It works. That's really my only prerequisite when buying these things, so I consider it a resounding success.0

Yeah but once the Haribo is eaten, the regrets begin.I don't do smileys.
