Its time to sell my Anthem and get something a bit bigger.
Whatever I get has to be good for everything from 100km xc rides to enduro races.
At the moment im thinking Giant Trance or Trance SX, Nukeproof Mega TR or Kona Process 134 DL.
Budget around £2500. Anything else I should consider?
Im not convinced 650b is better but im not against it. Im also happy to buy 26" or 29"

Saw one the other week, looked really nice in the flesh (or alloy)
Personally I'm all for the nukeproof especially considering the frames are going for £1k now!
I regret not testing one before ordering my frame and the mega AM got a great review on here earlier0 -

Oh good point, works I think
The frame is the same however and it looked very nice I have to say0 -

Yeah, frame's the same, component spec higher on the Works (and price is £1500 higher too, lol). Regular model is grey with anodised orange accents, the Works is grey with anodised teal green/blue accents (like the 2014 T-129S). Both come with the new Rockshox Pike fork, and both look lush. Hoping my local dealer will be getting one in to have a gander at.0 -
Checkout paulscycles for their 2013 trance 29ers. I bought one during the week discounted by £500, no brainer.0

Trek fuel ex8? 26" wheels, 130mm travel, iscg05 tabs, internal cable routing and ready for a reverb stealth.0

The Whyte G 150 looks ideal, nice build and good geametry.
2013 Trance is good but I would have to change too much to get it how I want it.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Just spoke to someone who has ridden the Whyte, he didn't have a good thing to say about the frame. Flexy with a horrible back end.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

If flex is the issue then I'd say the Nukeproof would be good
A review of the mega AM said it was very stiff0 -

The review also mentions suspect rear suspension.

They arrived in my LBS last week, quite tasty indeed.0 -

Heard good things about them, only downside being that they're a tad on the lardy side.0 -
I would only go for the Process 134 DL which isn't too heavy.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

My LBS has had a Trance 2 (the black one) in for a while - nice looking bike.0 -
I don't care what it looks like. Even if it looks like a sack of sh1t, if it rides well enough I will buy it.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Can't help you there - I've not ridden it, lol (and I doubt my cack handed riding would tell you anything about it anyway.)0

Demos booked for Trance and Trance SX (full weekend) and Process 134 (day)Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Be very interested to hear your thoughts on the SX post-test.How would I write my own epitaph? With a crayon - I'm not allowed anything I can sharpen to a sustainable point.

I went for a 2014 Trance 1 over the G-150, and am so happy with it, had it two weeks now, even got great tires as standard.0

Stumpy Evo 29er? I rode the regular version and it was definitely quick... though crying out for the Evo treatment.Vitus Sentier VR+ (2018) GT Grade AL 105 (2016)

I will give that one a miss. I don't like FSR suspension and I dont like longer travel 29ers.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
