I have now decided to purchase a new hybrid so i would be grateful on your opinions for the ones below. Or any other suggestions? My price range is £500 max, maybe a little more....

They are both decent bikes. However for a similar price you can get a road bike, e.g. Trek 1.1, have you considered this route?0

Worth looking at the Boardman Hybrid Comp in that price range too.0

Sirrus or boardman gets my vote but u get more for your £ with BoardmanChinese All Carbon Hybrid, mixed with overdraft and research.
Hong Kong Phoey - Quicker than the human eye!
Not enough: bikes, garage space or time.0 -
Just to throw another bike into the mix as one that is worthwhile checking out - I have a Merida Speeder T5 and it is very comfortable and light. I have been told that Merida make the specialized frames (or at least some of them) so you can be sure it is a quality product. I have some short barends and SKS commuter mudguards on and it works very well on my commute. The newer models than mine also have disc brake options now but this does make them a bit more expensive. Unless they have changed the design they also provision for both rear and front racks if this is important to you.0
