Yet another what bike would suit best topic.. Sorry!
Im new to road cycling, in truth I'm a motocross and mountain bike rider. However since i am getting more seriously into motocross i have been advised to start incorporating road cycling (around 40 miles) into my training regime once a week. I have been looking at numerous forums/reviews and the amount of recommendations really makes it daunting to just dive in and pick a bike. Im looking to spend around £500 on a bike, as this seems to be where you can enter the better spec end of the market. Im interested to know what your bike recommendations might be that would suit me and my budget?
I have been looking at the Moser Speed Sora that seems to have some good reviews all round

2nd hand or the Triban 3 from Decathalon are effectively the 2 options. 2nd hand you will get a load more for your money.
Although if you are only doing 40 miles a week anything would do.
In fact just do the 40 road miles on your MTB.Yellow is the new Black.0 -
I have not ridden one but the reviews are very positive about the bike you linked to. Give one a test ride and see what you think. Also test ride other 2013 sale bikes from Cannondale, Trek , Specialized etc to give you a comparison. The price range you are looking at is where the decent road bikes begin so you should have no problems getting a good bike.0

Get a road bike by all means - but if all you are doing is riding as part of a bigger regime for MX then I would save your money and just do the rides on what you already have, MTB or whatever. What you are after is the training benefit, rather than a road bike as such.
Like I say, spend £500 on a road bike if you like, but if I was still riding MX I would be spending that money on fuel and tyres..0 -
+1 to this ^
If it's just for 40 miles a week training rather than with the intention of getting into road riding I'd just stick some slick tyres on the MTB and lock the fork if it has that facility.0
