Morning Losers!
Well, I am now pot free. This pleases me. The doctor said that I should start walking over the next 2 weeks, and can drive when I know I'm ready. He also said no sport for a month. Well, within 2 hours of leaving the hospital I can walk around with no crutches (still have them for longer distances) and I feel fairly confident with it.
I'll give driving a go later, could be interesting. I'm still hoping to be back out on the bike in a fortnight. We will see.

It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

Another good night's sleep followed by a good ride in this morning. Hopefully the rest of the day will continue in this vein.
I have nothing planned for tonight except packing my bags for a weekend in Scotland. It’s going to be an early finish tomorrow then straight up the road.
But first I have to get the minions started and tea made.
Later……0 -

What did you do to your leg?0 -
Glad your walking alone TKM
In work after dealer with knobs at the main dealer, in theory today should be the first time in three visits that they actually fix something. Bright side - they clean the car each time
Work is a late one today - so no pub unlike yesterday0 -
Happy Days TKM, no crack and no pot, your like a Jeremy Kyle reformee!
Morning Scuttlers
Day off for me today so I am planning to do a bit of a tidy before the Oldsmobiles come up on the weekend, Put Amy back together following her post cc2cc strip down and also start stripping out the van properly for conversion, I shall start by uninstalling the tow bar electrics that were installed all wrong and has left me with a random array of lights and such, the one that actually fell off too, I don't need them at the mo and I shall reinstall them next year0 -
Evening Ladies,
Today is lunch time swim and free food as always.
Also instead of working i'm making a weekend shopping list for supplies mmm food.

Morning homos!
This is getting silly now. I ordered my Kinesis stuff over 2 weeks ago now through the LBS, and it's STILL not here!
It was all in stock at time of ordering so they literally just needed to post it. No idea what the holdup is.
Fuming.
Supposed to have a race on Sunday too.0 -
afternoon, today was the first day where proper lights were required for the commute, which sucks. I tried a bit of heartrate zone training this morning and then my daft competitive streak took over and I started chasing a guy on a roadbike until I blew up from lactic. which also sucks.
Thinking of converting the 29er to SS as an excuse.0 -
hahaha, after moaning, just had a call. My frame, forks, other forks, and wheels all just arrived. LBS is busy chopping steerers and I'm off to grab it later.0

That's kinda what happened when I bought Amy, should have taken 7-10 days to ship, when it got to 4 weks I complained to ebay, they logged the case and it arrived that afternoon, but because id logged it and it wasn't shipped as I'd paid for I got my 90 quid shipping back0 -
Kicking mule . Just be absolutely sure you can do an emergency stop if need be .0

You can always stop quickly, it might just be by using the back of a car or an immigrant.Advocate of disc brakes.0

Mental busy day, felt a bit stressed so went for a quick 6mile loop of the lake on the Ion. Nearly crashed into another cyclist, avoided them and then forgot to unclip so now have another nice graze on top of the scar from a crash in August. Persevering with SPD's but starting to get p1ssed off with them.
Tonight I'm taking the Fuel home as I think he's feeling a bit abandoned in the warehouse, and then I've got to find some biking kit (black) that is somewhere in a big pile of (black) clothes, for a spin on Saturday.

Evening Tards,
Now on the train home after a mad day at the office. The grog bottle is coming out when I get home! Was told something was not needed till next year by one senior bod then today another one tells me the same thing is urgent and why the dark haven't I done anything about it. Well, I went for a quick drive to the shop and back and my foot felt fine! The movement that's involved doesn't bother me at all.
As for emergency stops, that's for wussies! I just run people over and ram other cars. Much more fun!It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

Morning all.
Today has been interesting. A break in at one the depots last night. I'm getting fed up with people moaning, don't fucking whinge at me because I've asked you to do your job, it's not my fault. Just another day in the life.
The good news is my new mech has arrived so I should be able to have a gentle spin this weekend, the bad news is I left it at work, and I've realised I never bought a new gear cable to replace the frayed old one. This means a trip to the dreaded LBS is required on Saturday.
That's the boring stuff out of the way and I'm so knackered there isn't much fun stuff. Toodles, onto Friday. I would be excited but its my weekend on call which means I'm working on Saturday and that I will get phonecalls at all hours of the night and day. Joy.0 -
So, picked up the frame, forks and wheels after work with the intention of building up the bike today so I can do a test tomorrow. Not going to happen sadly.
1. They'd not got round to chopping the steerers like I'd asked
2. I can NOT get the bIoody tires seated tubeless al all. They seem pretty baggy on the Kinesis rims. Will try and hunt down a compressor tomorrow.
3. Like a noob, I had assumed my Reverb was 31.6mm, when in fact it's 30.9. I now need to track down a shim. Hopefully LBS will have one, if not, it looks like I'll be buying a cheap seatpost so I can race on sun, and ordering some stuff from Wiggle.
4. I've lost my short bolts to mount my caliper to the fork.
Other than that though, loving the bike. They did me a great deal on it and I can't wait to get out for a ride (even if it is with tubes and a cheapo seatpost)0
