Morning all,
I've upgraded my TCR 3 from a mixture of Tiagra & 105 group set to Ultegra with the exception of 105 STIs
My question is will I notice a vast difference modding to Ultegra or would it be "I've got the set and looks over function?
Thanks
Andy

Very marginal gains. Nowt wrong with 105.

Not in terms of shifting, no. The only difference that I could tell between the whole groupset is that the braking is better on Ultegra. Set up correctly, shifting is the same.

I much prefer the shape of Ultegra hoods but that's a personal thing and doesn't make Ultegra any better in that sense.

105 is the best £:performance groupset that Shimano sell IMO

So in theory would the Ultegra Sti in addition to my ultegra brakes have a better braking ability over a 105 Sti?
Or would an uprated pad surfice?
    Thanks for the replies

Shimano pads are pretty good already.

People swear by Koolstops or Swisstops, but I find the shimano ones good enough.

I wouldn't bother, unless you're gagging to spend more money, I have both (5700/6700) and can't tell the difference.
