Which bike - owners views?

Hi all, wifey unexpectedly gave me the go ahead for a new road bike at the weekend, I'm guessing she wants a new something or other but hasn't let on yet. Be that as it may I have a budget of £1100 and cover around 100 miles a week including commute and leisure.
I've narrowed by choice to a Mekk Poggio 2.5 105, Planet X R57 Rival, and Canyon Ultimate AL. Obviously I'd like to move into the new world and favour carbon. The Mekk looks fab, but the planet x has the better group set and is billed as more of a race bike. I already own a Canyon Strive MTB and know the quality of these bikes, again, fab group set but aluminium.
So, the question is does anybody have any experience of these bikes? I will be trying them for fit etc, but a ride around the car park doesn't compare to the views of somebody who has many miles under their belt on one.
Thanks in advance!

how are you going to try a Canyon for fit?0

PX RT57 is a bargain at that price.0

Is SRAM Rival much better than the 105?0

It depends on the type of shifting you prefer, I like the SRAM shifting system so would always choose it but the 105 is still a good option if you prefer Shimano. IMO Rival is a slight upgrade on 105 but Shimano owners may disagree.0 -
I take it SRAM is more direct while shimano is more progressive?0

The paddles on SRAM changes both up and down the cassette and the chainring, I find the one finger operation very easy to use. I have just come back from a ride and going through the gears is so easy, the slightest flick and you're in the next gear. The double click system that SRAM use does seem to work well IME.
I have Shimano on my turbo bike and TBH that changes fine but to me it does seem slightly slower but it's only a step or so above entry level, I dare say that 105, Ultegra etc would be good options
So after a bit of a long winded explanation to answer your question IME yes I feel it is more direct.0 -
Just to add I have been using the SRAM fitted bike for over a year now and so far no problems.0

Cheers for that, gut feeling says it's going to come down to these two bikes, which are quite similar and so may come down to the feeling of them, even if it is a run around the car park0

Which two are you thinking of, your first post mentioned three?0

I really fancy carbon so I'm moving towards the Mekk and the Planet X0

And I think the 2013 Canyon is sold out.0

I think the PX is quite a bit lighter than the Mekk.0
