hi all,
As you can see I am new to the forum!
Up until a few months ago I owned a 2007 Kona Cindercone which served me well but which I sadly had to sell.
So I recently decided that I wanted and needed to get back into biking but needed to do so on a reasonable budget. I did some research and finally settled on a Carrera Kraken as it seems to get favourable reviews.
I have to be honest I would have avoided the Carrera name in the past but think it is pointless being a bike snob especially when I cant really afford to be!
Anyhow, I have done a deal which has secured me the bike at a totally reasonable 360 quid brand new.
So, spec wise, will I be pleased in comparison to the cindercone?
Hope I have chosen wisely enough...its been a while!
Cheers all
Mike

They are supposed to be good bikes for the money and the only slight downside is the wheels are a bit heavy but that is not a major problem. Ride it into the ground0

Bit late to ask after you've bought it.I don't do smileys.

When I say bought I have reserved it but not parted with the cash yet!
The more posts I read here the more I realise just how much weight can be saved with decent wheels.
However I can always upgrade these as and when.
I suppose just wanted an opinion as to how this compared to the cindercones from those that have more knowledge than me...0 -
Don't worry. You have buyers remorse. I get it every time I spend a wad of cash. You're bike will be fine. Just go out and enjoy riding it. You can upgrade the wheels later.Nothing ventured, nothing gained. http://doricdiversions.com

The Kraken is probably very similar to the Cindercone. Its going to be + or - a pound at most and spec seems very similar according to BikePedia

Ah thanks for that.
The Cindercone whilst being a basic bike always served me well so I am pretty sure all will be ok with the new one!
Will report back later.0
