Training wheels - fulcrum issues?

Hiya all
I am about to buy some new wheels for training.
Need a set with sealed bearings and have narrowed it to a straight choice between:
Fulcrum 7s, Fulcrum 5s, Mavic Aksium.
Anyway, i was all set to order the 7s when one of the lads at the bike club told me not to as he has issues getting the tyre to sit correctly in the rim.
He said he gets around it using soapy water, but if he gets a flat on the road it means a very uncomfortable ride back.
Has anyone else suffered this issue?
Is it a common thing on Fulcrum wheels?
Would be really grateful for some advice.
Many thanks

I have never had a problem across 3 sets of Fulcrum wheels including 7s0

Likewise ... I've got a set of Fulcrum R T's which are 5 hubs and 7 rims - no problem with GP4Seasons on the rim.
Also got a set of FR5s for the better half's bike - no problem with GP4Seasons or 4000s on the rim.0 -

Thats good to know.
I have done a search for the bead issue and couldnt really find many results.
So presumable its a one off?
Thanks for your reply0 -
He just can't put a tyre on ;-)
My Racing 3's have done two bad winters and are still going. Never needed trued and the bearings are fine. They've just been upgraded to a pair of 28mm Vittoria Rubino Pro Tech's for the dark days.0 -

When I first read that I thought you meant like Trigger's broom and you've kept on rebuilding them0 -

But no ... not in just 2600 miles ...
they used to be my "best" wheels - but now they're on my daily commuter. Never had an issue getting tyres on/off - even on the roadside (2 flats recently)0
