Seen this for £680. Anyone seen anything else on a good deal recently? Size medium or small. Pretty taken with the 29 idea.

thanks

Why, 29ers are so last year. You need a 650B

    Have you ridden a 29er?
If not stick to 26, you'll get more for your money

But if you're dead set on a 29er the Vitus is probably as good value you'll get brand new
  • I think the 'so last year' is the point - they seem to offer the best deals.

    I like the 29s

    and

27.5 dont offer me many bargains - so to be honest 29 will suit my middle aged - go with the flow style

Do the Boardmans or Rockriders get discounted at all? Are they any good?
  • I am a fan of boardman , would point out that nearly all their bikes get good reviews . The only bad review I have seen was the 29 er . Poor geometry . It's your money but I am another in the 26 inch better value for money camp . In early fifties so no racing whippet but perfectly happy on a carbon hardtail.

The so last year bit is I think pointing out the irony of 26 inch wheel bikes having been more than fit for purpose for donkeys years

I am happier with getting a better bike with 26 inch wheels over a compromised bike with 29 inch wheels. I have a hardtail with a Fox fork and Sram X9 gears ect and the bike works flawlessly where I think a cheaper spec could have me a little frustrated with the fork or the gear set and I cannot say having bigger wheels that are only 1.5 inches bigger on radius is going to improve the ride over a good set of Fox forks...
