Changing battery - Cateye Singleshot

I have a Cateye Singleshot rechargeable bike light, had it for 4 years now and the battery life has gone from it.
I took it to bits and saw the battery pack is basically 4 AAA batteries held together in some plastic wrap, can I just swap this out for a battery for say a RC car, so long as the voltage is the same?
There isnt anything "special" about the batteries Cateye use?
