Just bought a Scott Scale 970 - 2014 model and hoping someone has the same bike...

The bike is advertised on the company's website and also on the Scott website with a Remote fork lock out.

Mine has came without one so contacted the company who contacted Scott who have told them that the description is wrong and the bike does not come with the lockout...

They have offered me a 10% discount on the remote lockout if i want to purchase one !!!

Hoping someone can tell me that there bike has one or not....

I have told them that they can take the bike back if i do not get one for free...

How much are they asking for the remote?
  • I never got as far to ask, i basically told them, its a free one or come and take the bike back.....
  • Looks like around the £35 mark so £3.50 was a right good offer.....

What country are you in? They may try and claim it's a regional spec variation.

The UK and US Scott websites both clearly say it has a remote, and you can see the remote in the bike picture as well.

The suntour remote is really crap anyway.
I hired a bike on holiday with one and its completely useless. It either sticks on or just doesn't work at all.
Even the remote on my Rockshox Rebas is a waste of space.

Pointless things IMHO, but if you are miserable send it back.

Who did you actually buy the bike from?

Agreed. You'll probably also find the website had 'errors & omissions excepted' and 'specifications subject to change without notice' in the T&C s. If you're otherwise happy with the bike then I would keep it. Maybe try to get the seller to give you a small 'freebie' as a gesture of goodwill.
  • Sure its the 2014 model? It could be an older one that the shop sold as new in a cheeky way....

I've just bought same model (2014) and be sure there is a remote lock. I doubt that they would sell you new model without it so you probably bought an older model (see your frame if SCOTT banner is white - 2013 model or black - 2014 model.
