Decided to put my old Kona frame to good use. It's a '95 ('96?) Lava Dome. It's a DIY respray that I did a good few years back. Built up with bits from the spares box

I may respray it again, perhaps pink

Recon 100mm Solo Air forks
Mavic 717 on XT
Raceface Evolve Cranks
Juicy 5 brakes (hate them - they constantly leak!)
LX / Deore 9 speed gears

Various finishing bits

Gonna use it as a winter bike, and for rides with the kids. May go 9 speed only.

Sorry about the low qual pic, camera was flat so I had to use my phone

    its about that age

I have a cinder cone from 94 still got the dx thumbies and the composite xt mech of the time...

the graphics are more sober that that, and the 94 lava dome was an emerald green.....

as the head tube looks like its fork adjusted that would make it a 96

you could fit 700c wheels to it and use it as a single speed commute.. I did this to a 95 saracen tuff trax

It was originally a midnight blue colour and yes the original decals were more sober. I've now found some, on EBay, like the originals which is one of the reasons I might re-spray it again (I don't much like the decals it has)

Just checked Google - here's how it started:
