yeah, I've just been looking on the map how best to do it, I've got a few ideas. then from cwmcarn, over machen/rudry way to taffs well area and a few guys from the club have ridden from there to afan so they'd know a route for that bit too.

Sweet, that's pretty much the route I looked at, just the finer details I don't know, but it means Caerphilly is bang on target for the first overnight stay

Having been looking at the pictures and following progress at a distance I'd love to do it too (if communters are allowed). Probably partly because I know I couldn't get the time due to work and family stuff so wouldn't actually have to do it. Maybe if you do it again in a few years when the kids are that bit older.
  • You know I'm in Gazlar! Not the same "in" as on Wednesday night either...

Bar a couple of reservations I'll do it. I mean how much pushing can Gaz find in one little country.
I'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!

    Rightyhothen, I'm in. :D

Coiler next year (so I'l be bit slower on the climbs, quicker on the descents and hopefully it won't break).

I'm also up for recce rides to ensure the complete route is ride-able. You may not be aware, but I really hate having to push my bike up hills...

You'll be pleased to know I'll be looking to link bits with ncn routes too. Thinking it may be slightly less challenging but more social and accessible for more people in terms of rideability.

right, I've spoken to a mate of mine who lives in wentwood and he says there's no real route from Chepstow to wentwood and then wentwood to Cwmbran off road, it'd have to be a lot of lanes which is what I thought tbh.

Yeah that's kinda what I though from my plans. gonna spend some time going over the route and I'll announce the full plan for next year around January again, gives me time to work it all out.

In the meantime, another photo from the week

That's why I wanted to propose a date sooner really, we get ours pretty much imposed on us, so for people in a similar boat if they can be first in the queue its better.

for the same reason I avoided bank hols and school hols as generally people have more luck getting time off

  • I've added it to my calendar. I should be able to get that week off, as I now have new minions that can cover me, and we are generally quiet around then. When you say the week ending the 29th, do you mean that would be the day we start, or the day we finish?

That would be the last day or last but one, so ride in the week before depending on route etc will dictate the start day
