Morning Losers!
Have slept and woken up on Friday, I'm feeling a little good, though roll on 4 O'Clock when I can leave. Hopefully my copy of GTA V is arriving today, so all is good. Sadly I'm in work tomorrow, so probably won't get to play it as much as I'd have liked.
I have a meeting with the bloke taking over the Macs from me, he isn't happy about getting them, and I'm not happy about losing them. Why do management think this is a good idea!?

It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

TKM, just don't tell him everything and when he keeps having to call/email you then you can go back to management
TFIF, I should get my frame back today and build it back up and off out for a ride at probably BPW sunday, woo hoo.
got a lot of paperwork to do today, I've been putting it off so it's gone from a little to a lot
anyway, as it's Friday I think i'll be having some bacon...

Yeah it's Friday
Ya late meeting in Telford turned to win last night when I got home the kiddy care people were here and off to the pub we went
Today is working from home as the kids have got a harvest festival thing on, after that it is obviously the pub!

TFIF.
Yesterday's meeting was an absolute pain. 2 ½ hours of argument and counter argument by people who actually knew very little about the subject matter in the first place. I have another short meeting this morning before an early finish around lunchtime.
Collected yesterday’s package from the post office only to find it was the wrong size. It was my fault this time so I’ve sent it back for a refund and ordered the right one. Used the collect+ service for the first time and so far it works great.
Off out to a Turkish night later so hopefully beer and kebabs are on the menu.

This is a direct quote from the director in reply to my concerns:Silly Director wrote:The points you make about the knowledge of software is a good one and something that the IT Manager has also raised with me. There will need to be some close liaison with IT and whatever the new position is decided upon to support this functionality will have to include an understanding of the software we use and an appreciation that it may take some time for this practical knowledge to be appropriately gained. It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

part of my job involves 52 42" LCD screens around site that get info fed to them from PC's via the intranet. I look after the screens, someone else looks after the PC's and there's an argument between management as to who looks after the cables in between so they talk to each other. it's beyond a joke that it's taken months to sort out what is mostly a 5m HDMI cable and who supports it0 -

Made it back from the Badlands of Telford last night, though not before getting through a bit of plonk on the train. And then go an invite to go to the pub in London, so got back a bit late last night. Still managed to pedal into work and get shot of the hangover though. Now looking forward to the weekend and some good lazing."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0
