Hello people I have a will it work question.... I purchased a new shimano wheel set for my gt 29er the new front wheel is 15mm thru hub my fork is 9mm qr I disassembled the old hub and removed the axle leaving it with only the 2 inner nuts. Then I took that axle and slid it into the new hub 15mm installed it on the fork and it spins perfectly no play noises or anything. Will this work? Has anyone ever done this before? Thanks in advance for your responses!

unlikely but who knows as you have missed a whole lot of info out.
like what is the hub?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

It worked what I did was removes the axle from my old hub which is an all terra hub that came stock on my 2012 gt karakoram 29er I then slid that axle into the new shimano 15mm hub with the cone nuts I stalled on the old axle which happened to be 15mm in diameter it is pretty much like the oart for sale on ebay I don't know if I got lucky with the old axle and the new hub working together but it works perfectly. Now my nex question is to tifhten the center lock disc on this front wheel that has a 15 mm hub is there a tool for that or do I have to dissasemble the hub for the tool to fit on the nut?0

No it's exactly like the piece that is sold on eBay except it was free. No need to spend money on those adapters all you need is to take the axle from your old rim and slide it in the new one with the cone nuts on it. Thanks for all the responses! If still skeptical try it out and post what u got out of it.0
