Which to buy, is there any XI's left in the county (medium)?
They appear on websites but after calling ATB distributor of Whyte, I am informed that they are all gone.

I'd go with the better value and looks
I saw a G150 works today and it looked good, except I had a pull of the avids and they were typically spongy
But they're easy to change if you wanted
I'd also demo cause £4000+ would be an expensive mistake
At the end of the day it's up to you and I agree with Cooldad I could say the 146 cause I always like the old school rear pivot but then the G150 cause it will be a more efficient pivot.. They're all just opinions with no evidence and unless someone has tested both we can only say which we'd buy with your money and can't make the decision for you0 -
As he's been thinking about it since January there probably isn't much urgency.I don't do smileys.

The urgency & problem is that, I've located probably the last 146XI in the country, but preferably would like to demo the G150 works to compare and make a final decision.
Unfortunately by the time I could get my hands on a G150 to demo, it is highly likely that the last XI will be gone.
I did arrange to try out a G150 at the bike show, sadly it never came off because Whyte sent the bike back because they didn't know why it was at the show.
I know it wouldn't be the same as a proper demo but it would of given me a small hint of what the bike was like.0 -
After borrowing a G150 works for the weekend from ATB, I have decided after much deliberations that it is the bike for me, so it has worked out well that Stan's Cycles would not accept my offer of a £2000 deposit on the 146XI, although I still find it hard to believe that was not a sizeble enough amount and why I took my custom else where.0
