  • For me, the whyte. But you can't really compare a 130mm travel 650b and an 80mm travel 29er.

Which fits you better, what riding will you do, what attributes do you look for in a bike, which bits do you enjoy more than others, do you want cross country pace or enjoyment.....too many variables, the right answer is "the one that is right for YOU".
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

This is good advice, I bought a Carve Comp ( Now Crave) at the beginning of the summer. For me it is a fast , stiff xc bike good for trails, fireroads and general xc riding, which is exactly what I was after. I have taken it over rough trails and it copes fine but I do prefer hardtails to full suspension. It is a comfortable bike for a blast in the woods or longer rides.

I buy bikes based on what riding I will do, the look of the bike and how it feels to ride. Spec's and price are important but you don't want great priced / spec'ed bike you don't like the look / ride of.

    Go do some test rides.
