identifying correct derailleur hanger

Could someone shed some light on how to identify the correct hanger for a particular bike

I have been given a dawes xc 1.4 and the hanger was snapped off tried a spare hanger i had lying around which didnt fit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ask a Dawes dealer.

talk to a shop that sell Dawes or google hanger (dérailleurs) and see what is listed for your make model and year.

Or take a photograph of the frame where the hanger is attached and then have good look at the ones on the BETD site to find one that matches.
