Hi, I am 16 and looking to buy a new ride bike at around £500-600 I would use it to get to college and for riding for leisure. I'm small at only 5ft 3" and would be looking for a 50 CM frame size. I am also looking to get the bike on the ride 2 work scheme. I have found two bike and I would like to know what you think is best spec wise for the price since I don't know much about bikes. Also please note I have test ridden both bikes and they both ride well and the 2300 shifters don't phase me.

My favourite two bikes I have come up with are:

Fuji 1.5 Sportif Compact 2013 : http://www.evanscycles.com/products/fuj ... e-ec041874

Pinnacle Dolomite 3 2013 : http://www.evanscycles.com/products/pin ... e-ec044211

Also, if you can recommend a different 50cm framed bike around the same price would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advanced.

I would suggest that a 50cm is too big - the Pinnacle has a 545mm toptube which is more suited to someone 3" taller. Suggest you look for a frame with a virtual toptube dimension in the region of 520mm - can't find a link to the Fuji geometry.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • I've test ridden both bikes and they are a bit big but I'm a teenager and going to grow so I'm sure they will fit fine within the next year. Even though the bike is big I am still safe and stable on them.
