Carrying your gear - commute. Which rucksack

Ive currently got the 11l camelbak mule (before it was recently re designed)
I need something a little bit bigger and quite a lot more waterproof
I don't need to carry work clothes, simply a packed down rain jacket, laptop/ipad and a few folders of paper.
Plus usual tube, multitool, wallet, phone etcetc
Is there a clear winner in the rucksack stakes?

I've been using a 30l Karrimor Airspace series rucksack (older model) for quite a while and I find it much more comfortable than any dedicated cycling pack I've had before.
I carry up to 15lb of gear often for over 2h.

I used to use an old 25l Karrimorrucksack with a 20l dry bag inside to keep my gear safe. Alpkit do some great dry bags.
These days I leave most of my gear in work and use a 5l Alpkit bag bungeed to my handlebars.0 -
I have used a Deuter Race for the past 5 years. It is still in perfect condition and would definitely recommend it.

I use a Deuter Race EXP Air. It has a frame that keeps the main body of the rucksack away
from your back, I think Deuter call it a "Air Comfort System". An excellent rucksack that's
well worth a look and about £60 ish from Go Outdoors.0 -
I used to be a big Karrimor fan but they arent as well made as they used to be, that said i have an old style xlite 20 which fits a laptop etc in and is shower proof and is very comfortable. Also look at the Overboard range, they are essentially drybags with a back system, i have borrowed a friends 20l one and it was superb.Life isnt like a box of chocolates, its like a bag of pic n mix.0

I'm 3 weeks into using DHB's Luggit Slice (30L version). Lime green rain cover and pretty excellent all in all so far for more than half the price of deuter etc.Edinburgh Revolution Curve
