Anyone have any experience of dealing with Pauls cycles based in Dereham Norfolk that they'd care to share. Thanks.

  • Bought my GT GTR Carbon Sport from them. Called on a Monday and asked if they could build it for me to view on Saturday.

Was all ready for me first thing on Saturday and chap who served me was very polite, professional and an overall decent guy.

    Hope this helps!

  • I live 5 minutes away. Pop in every now and then. Have bought 2 mtbs from them in the past. Not any road bikes though. Always helpful and answer questions. They can be busy though and then may come across a bit abrupt. I know people that have travelled large distances to buy from them though and they keep doing it. Best to call and speak to them and give them some notice as they have a lot of stuff in storage so may need time to get the bike out and build it.
  • Thanks very much guys, most helpful.
  • I bought a bike from their website and had it delivered. Perfect service.

  • Bought two bikes from them mail order, both perfect, good service.

Bought 2 bikes and a frame from them in past, one via C2W, all done via mail order and buying service has been good. As others have said can come across a little abrupt sometimes, but doesn't bother me. Had a minor problem with a cracked front derailleur bracket on an EVO which needed to go back to Cannondale for free bracket replacement. They / Cannondale asked me to remove all parts, box it up and post it back to them at my cost for them to then send to Cannondale. I took it apart fine, but was not keen on packing and posting at my risk (and large cost) so in the end took it to my LBS and was happy to pay them whatever to get it fixed instead as was simpler and certainly less risky. They charged me less (£30/40 I think) than the insured postage would have cost (£80/90 with full insurance) to post it back to Pauls. Not sure if this was Pauls or Cannondales fault, maybe a bit of both, Cannondale certainly didn't go above and beyond, but I bought based on price, so guess I can't complain really - or maybe I should as I paid exactly what they were asking?!? I have also bought a number of bikes from LBS and they will haggle, it just takes a bit more work and I also don't mind paying a small percentage extra for good local service, just not double - with your LBS if you don't use them expect to loose them. I use a mix of both mail order and LBS.
  • All very positive, thanks everyone.
