Out of a bit of OCD I've been considering changing out my BR-651s for a set of 105 brakes to match the rest of my gruppo but reading around people talk of a difference in performance between all the brakes and naturally I'd like the best braking possible. Is there actually a noticeable difference in performance, if so would Ultegra or Dura Ace be a better upgrade?

Sounds like your calipers may be long reach equivalents. 5700s may be too short.

I've seen that but I'm not sure my bike actually needs all that drop. What do I need to measure against to check?
