empty fork leg ?

just fitted some Manitou axle forks to a mates bike and after checking them over we have noticed that the right leg looks empty ? heres a pic

whats missing ?

Disagree - no evidence of oxygen or nitrogen - my conclusion is that it is full of vacuum.

Basic axle - spring one leg, nowt in tother.

Basic axle has no damper so will top out even if you put oil in the empty hole.

could a damper be fitted ?

With the right parts, yes, better axels have a damper, in fact I have a spare in the shed from when I upgraded one using dampers from a Sliver.

Just the damper assembly, screws into the bottom of the stanchion and includes the rebound stop on that side and yes up for grabs, PM me if you're interested.
