Basic axle has no damper so will top out even if you put oil in the empty hole.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

could a damper be fitted ?0

With the right parts, yes, better axels have a damper, in fact I have a spare in the shed from when I upgraded one using dampers from a Sliver.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Just the damper assembly, screws into the bottom of the stanchion and includes the rebound stop on that side and yes up for grabs, PM me if you're interested.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
