I use the ones with yellow tips and after only a weeks use, which has involved no more than 50 metres total of walking in em, both yellow parts have totally worn down and at the point where it states they need replacing. After only a weeks use is this right or are they faulty ?

The yellow bits are just there for walking on, hence are softer than the rest of the cleat. You definitely don't need to replace the cleats just because the yellow's gone. The rest of the cleat will last for ages.
  • Just make sure you trim the yellow when it wears, I find it can get difficult to clip in properly when you have bits coming off the side

Faulty. Or you walk on abrasive things alot.
  • Get some covers
    Scott CR1 Pro
    Specialized Secteur Elite
  • If the yellow portion has fallen off - faulty. If the yellow portion has worn through, I doubt you have a chance at warranty - if you bought from a good shop they might do you a good price on replacement, or if your a good customer they might just throw a set your way FOC.
