New Tyre Advice

Hi there, only a newbie so forgive me if I am posting this in the wrong place or if it is a silly question.
Basically I have the following flat bar road bike, which I mostly use for commuting to and from work, football training and the occasional 30km or cycle on a nice day.
http://www.citycycles.ie/index.php?opti ... cle&id=127
The issue I am having is that I have got a couple of slow punctures on my front tyre in the last couple of months and as I rely on my bike daily for my commute it can be quite annoying.
The tyres I have at present are Continental Ultra Race 23-622 (700x23C) and from looking at them on chain reaction, they seem to have some bad reviews especially when it comes to punctures.

So, I am looking for advice for a stronger tyre which will help reduce the possibilty of a puncture but also at the same time a not too heavy tyre that handles well and would still give me the feel of a road bike.
I have put up four tyres below, if anybody can give me some sound advice.

Many thanks for your help

The GP4000s are closer to race tyres and, from the bunch presented, will offer least resistance to punctures; more of a summer tyre, with some polar opinions expressed over the internet. A better all round alternative from Continental would be their 4 seasons tyre which is basically a more robust version of the GP4000.
The gatorskins are ok, I've not used them but have heard varying opinions on their poor wet weather grip.
The Durano Plus I have been told by a friend who changed from GP4000s (previously gatorskins) are fantastic all rounders - perfect for commuting and long lasting.
The Marathon tyres are possibly the most robust road bike tyre you can buy. I suspect they would be a bit on the harsh side.
From your list, I'd suggest the Durano plus and, from my experience, I'd add Conti 4 Seasons for consideration however, they are hard to find for £30 or less each.

You can't beat the marathon plus tyres for commuting, 700 x 25c are good, not too heavy / slow. My daughter has them on her Giant Defy for commuting and they are bombproof. He is not the messiah, he is a very naughty boy !!0

M+ are bombproof. For those distances etc good choice. They are heavy and don't feel all that nice.
Durano + are, IMO, superb. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

I have Marathon 28s on my tourer and they're bullet proof. But you'll find a lot of folk (me included) who say they're hard to get on and off the rim. Two of my other bikes have Specialized Roubaix tyres, light and very puncture proof plus I can get them on and off with my bare hands.http://www.strathspey.co.uk - Quality Binoculars at a Sensible Price.

Thanks folks for your replies.
So from reading what you are saying it seems to be a choice between the Durano Plus and Continental 4 Seasons with an honourable mention for Bontrager Race Lite Hard Case.
Are both Durano Plus & Continental 4 Seasons widely available?
At present my wheels/tyres are 700 x 23c, would it be any benefit going up to a 700 x 25c?

25s have lower rolling resistance than 23s and are comfier.http://www.strathspey.co.uk - Quality Binoculars at a Sensible Price.
