Hi all i dunno if any ofyou saw my post on my scandal the other day but i totally FUBAR'd my Thomson stem and in the process made a dent in the top of the steerer tube so it is not perfectly circular anymore. Got new stem today but it will not slip on smoothly, any advice to try and get it looking circular again? I would send a pic but Phone is having a blond moment ( much like the owner yesterday) lol

New fork or upper assy needed.

Or cut the steerer down till round. If there are enough spacers and it is not too low.

  • Hi nicklouse have sorted the assembly of the stem & spacers luckily enough the stem sits below the flat spot which is no more than 10mm deep, the 10mm spacer i have sat on top of the stem is actually covers the flat spot so prob got away with it i hope?

Yup, sounds like it, but you may as well cut it off!
