Anyone have any experience of Planet X gloves? Just been looking at either the winter, deluge or wind block gloves to use when commuting. At the moment I try to avoid cycling to work in the rain. Would any of these gloves me good for my 40 min commute? Can anyone recommend anything better on a budget please?

Also, what bib tights? Saw some funkier ones at the weekend, any good?

Thanks

  • Gloves: All but the deluge... They sold a winter pack last year for £30 which was great value, part of the pack included the wind block gloves which are excellent. Lasted a year so far and would defo buy again.

Not sure about the bibs, wouldn't stray from DHB. Tempted to try Assos for next season.
  • Altura kit id good and BBB's winter gloves are excellent.

The £5 PX Winter gloves are absolutely brilliant and hands down the best Winter gloves I've had. I've tried gloves costing 5-7 times more and none of them are as good. I bought 4 pair last year, thinking that they couldn't be £5 for long. They still are so are a bargain IMO.

The best wet weather gloves I've used are the ones that are designed to get wet - Assos S7 rain gloves which are made of neoprene. Your hands will get wet but never cold and they never feel bulky or uncomfortable once they are saturated:

Mine were an Xmas pressie so the cost wasn't an issue (for me anyway!) I wouldn't hesitate to buy again though, now that I've used them.

For almost half the price though, you could pick up some Endura ones. I've compared my friends to my Assos rain gloves and they appear to be the same glove:

I'm sure you could probably get some neoprene surfing or canoeing gloves that would perform just as well, for less money.

  • Cheers Jordan I have surf gloves too thick to cycle in I'd have thought.

Don't your hands get wet/sweaty in neoprene gloves?
