CS7 Clapham Common Resurfacing

A couple of weeks ago I saw road resurfacing crews setting up one evening along clapham common on the route of the CS7 'cycle superhighway' but I hadn't noticed any improvement to the rutted road surface around there.

Had a look last night and it seems like they've resurfaced some sections of the road but have stopped short of the cycle lane. I imagine it avoids fiddly bits around manholes, gutters etc but surely while they're resurfacing they should do the entire road?
The patch repairs down there apper to have been done by a blind drunk with a bucket of hot tar in quite a lot of places, it would be nice to get something approaching a smooth surface on what is supposed to be a main cycling route across south london.

Enjoy those smooth bits, they'll join the rough bits before too long!

I'd have to ride in the middle of the road to enjoy the smooth bits anyway.

I guess the joint between old & new (along the edge of the cycle lane) will open up into a nice ditch with a bit of winter weather - perhaps that counts as a segregated cycle route?
