Rotor Power - firmware upgrade issues
I was upgrading the firmware on the powermeter and it got stuck at 2% on the left crank arm. Now the Rotor software is unable to connect to it and there's no power coming from it. I've tried removing the batteries including both etc. but no success in establishing a connection with the crank in question. The right crank upgraded without any issue and works fine. Previous experience with tech firmware on one thing or another suggests that it will need sending back. Has anyone had a similar issue? Did Rotor suggest anything, such as some kind of hard reset?
I have another Rotor power and both cranks upgraded without any problem....at least I can use that one while the other one is sent back for servicing!

You bought two unproven pieces of kit at £1400 each!?0

I know several people who have had them for almost a year and had no problems. I didn't go out and buy two at the same time. 'proven tech' goes wrong all the time - I had a recent and under warranty quarq that bust earlier in the year & I had a power2max (second version) last year that had dreadful drift and also had to be sent back for cadence or power drops (I cant quite remember). Hmmm, so what options does that leave for a proven crank based meter? Two SRM's for £4640. Peace of mind certainly doesn't come cheap - £2240 to be precise!
For anyone interested / has a similar issue it is likely to need a hard wired firmware upgrade which the UK distributor can do - no biggie.0 -
Thanks for the message. I tried updating mine last night - same thing, but it stopped at 13%. It's a shame, as I don't have two of them and live in Australia it looks like I'll have to send it back to UK and play the waiting game.0
