Changing crankset - do I need to change bottom bracket?

Apologies if this is a silly newbie question but I have got the biking back at the age of 49 - what started out as an effort to lose some weight has become a great hobby.
I have been using a 2009 Dawes Discovery 601 which has a nice 27 speed Tiagra set on it. Recently I bought a 2008 Lemond Etape in superb condition and am looking at swapping over the running gear from my Dawes to the Lemond - I have bought myself some suitable shifters as the Etape has two chainrings rather than three.
My question is do I need to move over the bottom bracket from the Dawes to the Etape which has a Bontrager chainset?
