Hi all,
New member, been lurking for a few weeks, as a bit of background I got into commuting earlier in the year and bought a BSO (love that term btw) as I wasn't sure I'd enjoy it and didn't want to waste money.
Long story short, I am loving it and so want (neeeeed) a better bike. I have browsed here to see all the usual supects that get namechecked in my range, about £400 and sort of settled on a base spec Specialised Sirrus. BUT, I really want to support my LBS (another term I like) as I have recieved great support/help/advice from them even though I only bought the cheapest bike in their stock. So the can get me a Trek 7.3 2013 for £425 which is £65 more than the Specialised from Evans.
So, is it worth the extra? I am willing to pay a bit more just because its my local guys but it really needs to be as good at least to justify it. Any advice really appreciated.

Thanks in advance.#

ps I hope that made sense, reading back it looks a bit....odd?

Will the £65 change your life 6 months down the line if you don't spend it on a bike? Will it generate a good relationship with your LBS? Tough call...
  • Thanks for input oxoman, bike guy mentioned weight too.
Tough crowd here... got the 7.3 today loving it so far, only been for a shakedown of commute but looking good.
