You will need a new crankset. How much this will cost is up to you. High end stuff is big money, low end is, well. not so much. If you stick with a Shimano crank you shouldn't need anything else.0

If you have an older version you may need to change the bottom bracket too.
This is about the cheapest you will get it but unless you have the special tools for removing/refitting it you will need to get it fitted by the bike shop.0 -

I agree it won't break the bank but one tool won't work if the existing bottom bracket is not Hollowtech II. I don't know what version of 105 he currently has. It could cost in the region of £150 to change the chainset.
If the op wants easier gears then changing the cassette would be cheaper and simpler.0 -

It doesn't matter what BB he has anyway - it's not as though it is likely to be hard to find the equivalent NOS versions on Ebay etc.Faster than a tent.......0
