Hi there,

I have spotted two bikes which have come down in price substantially. However, I am unsure in which one I should buy. Any help would be appreciated.

Forme Longcliffe 5.0

or

Raleigh Airlite 100

Thanks

Between these two, definitely the Forme because 2300 is 8 speed and Tourney is 7 speed (although the Rutland link says it's 8, but see here).

Shimano 2300 is a decent starter group set and it served me well on my first road bike. I also like the One23 finishing kit on the Forme, and the frame looks pretty smart. If you get bitten by the cycling bug and want to buy a nicer bike a year or so down the line, the Forme will make a great winter bike.

If you live near a Decathlon store you should also check out the Red Triban 3 (not the white), which also has 2300 but with a triple at the front (so 24 gears) and a carbon fork for £299. Both the Raleigh and Forme you've linked to have an aluminium fork which is not quite as smooth or light as carbon.
