You can't have it both ways an air spring and a coil spring are both springs. Compression of the spring means nothing to your argument, stiction in the seals and bushings is why air forks are not as small bump sensitive as coil forks.

NO a spring is a coil of wire, and a water source, the air fork does NOT have a spring, that why its not called a springl fork,

A spring is a coil of wire it can also be a leafspring or a torsion bar or a Belville washer or a volute spring or a hairpin spring or a rubber band and on and on.

An air cylinder with a piston in itis also a spring. Your at the bottom of a hole mate I would put the shovel down.

Before you hit a spring, and get wet feet...

Not quite at the bottom yet. I still want to know what this means.

your mixing up nouns and verbs, things can ''spring'' but not be ''A spring''

my cat can ''spring'' into a tree, but you wouldn't call it a springycat, where as a springer spaniel is still a springer even if it doesn't move

therefore, just because air compression makes the fork to '' spring'' back, that doesnt mean you can call it a spring, because it isnt. Of course if you insist that every thing that has the capacity to spring, is called a spring then life will get quite complicated

my dog has springs, you mean fleas, no they spring, so they must be called springs

  • i9m still waiting for cool dad, ( i just bet he isnt) to tell me what exactly is wrong with putting gt 85 on your fork

I topic he seems to have abandoned, now he has been challenged

any one else like to tell me ?

If you were daft enough to do jumps on a Chopper then you'd be lucky if you only split the frame, and not your ballsack, lol. That's what Grifters were for...

i didnt, mostly coz only the rich kids had them, they cost 36 quid, when the average wage was about 30 quid or so, none of my bikes cost me more than a weeks spends. my dad wouldnt buy me one as he thought they were dangerous, so i had to buy my own

im not sure the grifter was about in 1972/3/4?

If you don't even understand a spring it would seem pointless to waste any more energy trying to deidiot you.

the propellant in just about all sprays rots rubber seals.

best lube for them is whatever is used in the fork.

that would indeed be a worry if they had rubber seal in them, but as they dont, whats the problem ?

you tell me what your seals are made from then.

and yes what ever they are made from t is still know to be degraded b the propellants used in most spray cans.

anyway yet another topic has gone way off topic so closed.
