Help with first bike

Hello all,

Looking at replacing my Vitus Vee-1 29er with a proper road bike for my 11 mile commute and to keep the fitness up for my main love my MTB. Now for the past few nights I've been doing some research and seen the Btwin Triban 3 but its sold out also the Careers TDF which is £250 until Monday, is it any good?. Or should I save more pennies and get say a Kinesis TK3?

Must be able to fit mudgaurds for the commute but still be enjoyable for a 30 mile spin on the local roads. Budget set at £500 but could go more if you think its worth while.

Bit more searching last night led to the Canyon website and specifically the Roadlite AL 6.0 SL. Looks to me to be a good spec, just bang on some mud guards and away I go. Anybody got one of these or thoughts on the bike?

The Canyon is a good bike but quite a lot over your £500 budget plus it looks like it's sold out.

So if you are prepared to go to that kind of money there's a lot more choice, why not look at having a bike built up by Ribble?

Decide on a budget first, you can always get more bike if you are willing to spend more. You're comparing a £800+ bike with a £250 one, clearly the more expensive bike will be better.

I got a Canyon Ultimate AL 7.0 a few months ago, love it. Would certainly buy from them again.
