Looking at buying the Kinesis T2 frame for my new winter bike and would like to know if i am getting the right size for me.Bit of info,i am 5ft 8" tall and all my other bikes are a 54 frame but i have heard that the t2 has a long top tube.If any t2 owners out there could give me a bit of feedback that would be spot on.Cheers in advance

  • They are quite long. I'm 5/10 and got a 54. The second time tonight I get to post this! Allows you to compare an existing bike with a potential new one. I used it myself when buying a tk3, which has the same dimensions as a t2 these days I think.

Bondurant, thanks for that. Will have ago with this when i get home. The 54 may well be touch to big then?
  • Hard to say. That spreadsheet helped base my decision on facts, so I hope it helps you in the same way. I thought I might have to get a 51 but the spreadsheet showed me I would get the closest fit to a bike I knew fitted me by buying a 54. You can play about with spacer stack, stem angle and length and see what differences to stack and reach it makes.

Looking on the Kinesis website it puts me into the 54 frame size so will have a play with the spreadsheet tonight when i get in from work to check i am right for the 54 and thanks again

I'm 5'8" with an inside leg of 31" if I recall correctly. The T2 does have a long top tube so I went for the 51 which fits me perfectly, although I took the additional step of getting a 90mm stem instead of the 100mm which I would usually use.

I'd guess a 51 would be better for you. If you have an existing bike you could look at the geometry on the Kinesis website and superimpose it on your existing bike. This is what I did and was able to get the same bike fit as my (longer seat and head tube/shorter top tube than the T2) summer bike, using a shorter stem as I mentioned.

Great frames with proper clearance for real mudguards and 25c tyres. My mate is a powerful rider and general high-mileage kit-trasher and his has probably got 8,000 miles on it with no issues. That sold it to me and mine's put 3k miles on this last year

I'm 5' 6" but with longer legs / shorter torso and found a 54 too much of a stretch when being fitted for my Tk. The 51 is perfect.
