So, I am in the market for a carbon fibre road bike. Looking for something with a little more relaxed geometry due to typical lower back probs.
I have tried both the above and love them both, although I felt that the Domane's ride was not any better than the Felt despite the Trek technology.
The Felt I can get from wiggle loaded with Ultegra for less than the Trek loaded with 105 which I have on my present Cannondale.
I have to admit out of the 2, the Felt, felt more of a part of me on riding.
So, should I get the Felt as it fits and rides better and is cheaper £1583, for a better set up, or The trek which was a close second, more expensive £1620, and with a longer warranty.

  • This is my first post but I had a similar question a couple of months ago. I rode the Trek (briefly in a car park) but really wanted the Ultegra spec on the Felt. I then got seduced by the lure of Di2 shifting and once i tried it nothing else would do. As a result I ended up with a Felt Z3 and I cannot be more happy with the bike.
Done 100s of miles on it since then and it has been absolutely faultless. Anything was going to be a step up from my Aluminium BTWIN with Sora but the bike is a fantastic piece of kit. It is quick, comfortable and gorgeous. The only significant difference I can see on the Z4 are the wheels which look fine, and the FSA chainset, which actually looks a beter piece of kit than the Ultegra chainset on the Z3. I doubt you will notice the difference between Di2 and full Ultegra but don't try it just in case :D
In summary, I personally would get the Z4 every time over the Domane, but I obviously have limited experience with the Trek to properly compare them.
