  • how long do they last as i have had some gators on my other bike and they didnt last long maybe 1000 miles but not even sure if they did that.
  • Anything as long as its 25mm to give a slightly bigger contact patch. Treaded or slick makes no difference due to the size of bike tyres; treaded 'wet weather' tyres are a gimmick. Tougher compounds built for longevity can sometimes be a bit skittish, the gatorskin has this rep too. The usual BR recommendations are all fine in the wet, I plumped for some Pro4 Endurance for this winter.

  • so if i understand what your saying it dont really matter on tred that much but go for slightly softer compound?
it would be for 25mm any way

I run 25mm Conti 4 Seasons. Excellent puncture protection, excellent grip in the cold / wet, got 4000 miles out of the rear and 5000 out of the front.

They seem expensive at first but they do last well.
