Hi all, I know I've asked a similar question regarding the Comp 2 2012 v comp 3 2014... I still have a refundable deposit on the comp2 2012 and an advance has come up. It's described as Marked as a 2 but down specked to 105 apart from the ultegra levers, lightly used as a demo bike. It is £50 cheaper than the comp 2 with full SRAM apex. Is the advance the better buy because of the frame? Would I notice the difference between these bikes? Or is the comp 2 with the SRAM good enough frame and kit?
They are both around my target of about £1000.
I know I would notice the difference with my current bike , pinnacle sentinel 1. Doing ok in my first season of regular club runs, gone up 3 groups, mileage on rides increased ( mange most things now, do regular 60 , 70s and quicker 50s, some 70 and 80s and did my first century on my own which was really tough).
Grateful for your opinions and advice.

I would go for the Advanced frame personally. Components can be upgraded as and when they wear out. The Composite frame is good, the Advanced is better. The main difference as I understand it is that the comp has some alloy in strategic places (making it heavier) whereas the Advanced is full carbon and takes a lot longer to manufacture. The comp is designed to hit a price point and imo is a compromise (see what I did there?). Go for the better frame.0

Thank you camcycle, I think I'm getting there. I really did like the comp2 and it's colours scheme, but I am learning about the frame differences too and, as you advise, the components can be ( eventually will be in most bikes I suppose) changed or upgraded as they need replacing. I can feel a deposit being put on the advanced and a trip coming on.
I did call the shop and speak to they guy about the advance, he said it would be a more compliant ride , a better frame than the comp 2 and more comfortable......0
