Cycling shorts for kids

My 9 year old did his first proper ride, 26 miles, on Saturday. He managed it OK on a 20" wheel, 6 gear, chunky tyred bike, and really enjoyed it but he struggled with a pain in the arris (I popped out that evening and when I came back I found that the missus had taught him the word barse; i.e. the bit between your b*lls and your *rse).
We're planning a slightly longer ride and I want to get him a set of padded shorts, what's recommended? The local Aldi just had a load of bike ware in but I missed out and I'm looking to get something within the week
Cheers

My 12 year old has had a few pairs of Decathlon shorts and tights, last time I took him I bought him some bib shorts which have been great for him so far and they only cost about £150

Cheers all. I think I'll take him into Decathlon and if he sticks with it look at the bibs from Just Juniors0
