Going to be my first sportive and first century so looking forward to Saturday. Bit underprepared training-wise with previous longest being 76 miles but plenty of cumlative miles under the belt. Aiming for a silver medal under 6.5 hours hopefully, who else from the BR masses shall be participating? Anybody know potential numbers for the day?

  • Just me then? Fair enough! Great day out and managed to time coming into Lockerbie perfectly to see my Granny coming out of her coffee morning, free cake!!

Not totally alone! I had a mixed day with x2 detours firstly because of a missing sign then one that had blown to the wrong way...thought the signage was quite poor.

Was going great guns till the first detour then the "shared cycling path" section. Maybe 3 or 4 miles weaving in and out of dog walkers, families having a stroll and at one point a wee lady with her shopping trolley! Probably managed 6-8 mph for that section, add in my total of 58 miles for a 50 route and it was an adventure!

Better signage and a road option for the "shared " section and it would have been a great day out, some truly brilliant roads and a very well stocked/ friendly food station.
