I would suggest not and a quick search seems to confirm this....

I wouldn't want to ride it downhill if you did.
Somebody who repairs CF might be able to bodge some kind of extension for you?0 -
Maybe, but you'd want to make sure the end of the fork steerer was fully engaged with the extension piece and that you need to use a good quality fork bung. I'd also avoid using the extension to it's full extend, i.e. full stack of spacers, plus a long stem.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Me-109 wrote:Maybe this sort would work better in a c/f steerer? The first one linked appears to clamp over the existing steerer; this one appears to use an expander inside the steerer.
The expander type of converter are designed for use with forks with a metal steerer - regardless of whether they are the right diameter for a carbon fork - anything that puts a radial stress on the steerer without a restraining collar is just asking for trouble i.e. you will likely split a carbon steerer.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0 -
I would suggest you try and sell the fork (on here) and see if you can get some money back on it, then buy a new one. It might be too short for you but maybe long enough for someone else.0

My Ritchey Head set has a thin sleeve that fits into the carbon steerer to stop the expansion thingy from damaging the carbon. Maybe misserschmidt ME 109's idea could work if you could find one.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0
