Hi all, I've been given a CUBE AMS 150 frame without a shock by a friend. This one:

Can you recommend a good long lasting rear shock to use please. Budget is around £300 and it must have a remote lockout for the handle bar so I'm not messing about reaching at the shock while cycling. Ive been looking at the usual DT Swiss, Fox and Rockshox, but i can't decide
Cheers

Remote is pointless and just clutters up the bars. Very few shocks even offer it.I don't do smileys.

great price on the fox shock there in the correct size0

Cheers for the feedback. The price of that shock is unbelievable and hard to snub. Is this the same as the stock shock that came with the frame originally? or this an upgraded version. Also how does this shock rate with you guys? Average or one of the better for your buck ones0

About as good as you can get IMHO.I don't do smileys.

Its a 16" frame. Just to check im approx. 68 inches high with an inside leg on 31 inches. Is this the right frame for me? or should i have a 18" frame.0 -
I'm same height with an a slightly shorter leg (30") and I had a 16" Cube hardtail and now a 16.5" Canyon FS. You should be fine but possibly will be at the upper end.
To be honest it's difficult as frames differ from bike to bike.0 -
I have the 2011 AMS 125 Pro, just a point about remote lockout, absolute pain in the hole, nice idea but ultimately a waste of time. Taken mine off and just climb with forks doing what they will, doesn't make that much difference really.
Less hassle, less clutter, one thing less to worry about.0 -
