I'm still trying to find a fairly decent spec'd bike at £500 or less for my first MTB! Was looking at the Revel Ltd 0 2013, but couldnt get a Small anywhere!

I've been offered the Giant Talon 27.5 '3' 2014 for £500 (rrp £625) and thought I'd try and get some views on it in terms of spec. It would appear that the fork is not as good as the Revel Ltd 0 2013 (?), but is that the only compromise here?

Is the Talon 27.5 '2' the closer match to the Revel Ltd 0 2013? The rrp on this would appear to be £749 though, so unlikely I'll get near the £500 mark!

If suppliers are able to offer immediate discounts on 2014 models, perhaps I broaden my search again to other brands. It was only because the Revel Ltd 0 2013 at £499 seemed a great deal that I opted for the Giant...
